As a professional artist, my passion for Lake Superior and its splendid imagery, is the visual stimulus behind this collection of watercolor seascapes, landscapes, and floral paintings. The northern most boundary of Wisconsin is the Bayfield Peninsula in Bayfield County. Surrounded by Lake Superior, the region is admittedly the visual jewel in the crown of Northern Wisconsin, (if not the whole Midwest), furnishing some of the finest watercolor painting found anywhere. The villages of LaPointe, Bayfield and Cornucopia, nestled among the Apostle Islands, offer images unique to this artistically enriched environment and all sorts of delightful resource material for a Wisconsin watercolor artist.
Of all Great Lakes lighthouses, the lighthouses on Lake Superior within the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, are a fine art form in themselves. Rendered naturally to the watercolor medium, lighthouse paintings are a pleasurable and dramatic journey into marine history for fine artists.
When touring the area via boat or car, please visit my watercolor studio located three miles south of Bayfield., WI on Ski Hill Road.
